HOMESTAY FAMILIES

Why Become a Homestay?

Becoming a homestay is truly a rewarding experience. The Canadian families benefit from learning other cultures, customs and languages. The international students have the opportunities to fully immerse in the English speaking environment and experience the true Canadian life.

Testimonials

“We have been involved with both short and long-term homestay programs.  Both have been positive.  We enjoy meeting young people from other countries and this has provided an excellent opportunity for us to do just that.  Our family has been challenged to raise our standards both in how we do life and also by what our expectations are of ourselves.  We now have many lovely friends from Korea!  We will continue as long as possible with this program!”

"We have been host parents to a young Japanese intern student for almost a year.  Ever since Ai arrived, she has eagerly immersed herself in our family life and in the community. She has participated in learning Canadian cultures and customs, as well as the English language.  We in turn have enjoyed Japanese cooking and have been blessed with Ai's stay with us.  This has truly been a wonderful experience for us."
